EAR RECONSTRUCTION
Photography modified using Artificial Intelligence. 2023.
Using DALL·E 2, I prompted Artificial Intelligence to rebuild some of my models’ ears. All the dogs featured in these photographs are shelter dogs who came to the shelter with their ears cropped. It is unknown what motivated the original owners to crop their dogs’ ears in the first place.
Using my photographs, I erased the area where the ears should have been, then prompted AI to add “dog ears” in the empty area. I let AI work on the images with as little interference as possible. I wanted to see what the algorithm thought dog ears should look like.
